Dear Princess Celestia, After an immense amount of grinding (Though I'm sure it pales in comparison to grinding it at Vanilla level WoW) and help from many, many friends (<3 Emm, Mook, and Ebon specifically) I completed the forging of Sulfuras, the Hand of Ragnaros.
"But Confluttershy," I hear you ask, "That hammer hasn't mattered for ages!" There's also a few of you screaming that it didn't even matter back then, and even a third camp congratulating me on a shiny new hammer to wear around town and smash squirrels with. Well, hold on, I'm going somewhere with this. Maybe.
Sulfuras, for the uninitiated, is a hammer. A big, nasty looking hammer built for smashing the boots that are trying to walk over you, set them on fire, and laugh at them as they cry home to mommy. It is not an elegant weapon for a more civilized age, it is a brutal and uncaring weapon for an age where a weapon's worth was in how fast it could bring down a mammoth. That is, if cavemen played MMOs, anyway.
To be blunt, from the Player Versus Environment (Killing Internet Dragons because your computer sucks) point of view and the Player Versus Player (Killing Each Other because you don't have enough friends to kill the internet dragons) point of view, Sulfuras, as cool as it is, is useless in every capacity. You see the link up above in the first paragraph to the statistics packed in my shiny new toy? Look at an updated pretender to the glowy throne.
Now, I don't expect most of you (Read: I'm lying for the sake of typing more) stumbling across this blog to know what the implications are of such a stat jump between the two, but allow me to put it into simple terms.

| This is Pinkie Pie. She is Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros, in this example. She's the freakish lovebaby of Lauren Faust and Hasbro. |

| This is Sulfuras, the Extinguished Hand Much apologies for forgetting whoever drew this, you're awesome, though. |
If you are still having issues understand the difference, well, I can't help you, and it's likely that no one can, not even Pinkie Pie. Although, from a lore standpoint, I have issues understanding how a fully recreated Sulfuras is somehow weaker than the same hammer once it has been 'extinguished', but that is not the point of this post, and is a topic for another time.
Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Chat Spammer, another Legendary weapon of comparable power (although one step in game progression above), was created through a similarly long grind, although for much rarer drops from bosses. Thunderfury is generally seen as the de facto Legendary weapon, even though many cooler things have come and gone, in my opinion.
I saw another Paladin in the same RP armor as I had one, he with his Thunderfury, me with my Sulfuras. For a brief instant, our eyes locked, staring, sharing an unspeakable bond. Our souls clashed in a spiritual battle that could not even begin to be rivaled across all the cosmos.
Then I hit him in the face with my hammer and went on my way.
That'll learn him.
Your faithful student,
Confluttershy

Enjoyable read, as a Thunderfury wielder myself I too have come across problems with Sulfuras wielders hitting our faces in, it was problematic, we even almost went extinct in the great Face Smash Genocide of 06. Not sure where that was going but can't wait for more blog things.
